  • Elşən Baba

    Elshan Baba (b. 1993, Guba) is a graduate of Azerbaijan Technical University. He began his creative career with photography in 2012 and later also engaged in painting. His influence from nature is evident throughout his work. The artist has participated in group exhibitions such as “Monochrome” (Baku Photography House, 2021) and “Santa Claus in Remote Villages” (ARTIM Project Space, 2019). His works have been published on platforms such as BBC News, Post-Pravda Magazine, Azadlıq Radiosu, Var-Yox, Report News Agency, and other online platforms.

  • Rasim Babayev

    Rasim Babayev (1927-2007) graduated from the Azimzade Azerbaijan State Art School in 1949. In 1949–1956, he studied at the Moscow State Academic Art Institute, named after V.I. Surikov. He is considered one of the most influential artists of the Absheron school of painting. His works are kept in permanent collections in Azerbaijan and abroad. Rasim Babayev's works are in Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow), Museum of Oriental Culture (Moscow), Russian Museum (St. Petersburg), Azerbaijan National Art Museum (Baku), Museum of Modern Art (Baku), Komsomolsk-Amur Art Museum (Russia), Ternopil Art Museum (Ukraine), Bishkek Art Museum (Kyrgyzstan), "De France" gallery (Paris); they are stored in "Gallery Kayforsblom" (Finland), "Zimmerli" Museum (New Brunswick, New Jersey, USA), and Moscow Museum of Modern Art.

  • Tarlan Gorchu

    Tarlan Gorchu (b. 1953, Baku) graduated from the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts in 1977. He is a theatre director and an honoured artist. He is the founder and director of the Baku Marionette Theatre. He gained professional creative experience in Baku, Moscow, Tbilisi, and Warsaw. Apart from his main activity, he works in the field of modern art as a master of classical and modern Oriental calligraphy, a design artist, and is famous as a publisher-designer of children's books and art albums. He is regularly invited to exhibitions held in Azerbaijan and abroad, both as a participant and as a member of the organizing committee. He has successfully realized numerous design projects and installations in Baku, Warsaw, Paris, Vilnius, Moscow, Basel, Berlin, Tbilisi, London, and Venice. Tarlan Gorchu is a member of the Union of Azerbaijan Artists and the Union of Theatre Workers of Azerbaijan.

  • Qafar Rzayev

    Gafar Rzayev (b. 1993, Ganja) In 2017–2018, participated in the group exhibitions organized by the ARTIM Lab studio program. The artist is a participant in various projects and exhibitions: “The story of the boy with the white bed” project (Zaratan Air, Lisbon, Portugal, 2023); “I can look at infinity (or behind my own eyelids)” online exhibition (YARAT Centre, 2020); “Capsula” online exhibition (Mexico, 2020); “Calling from a distance” online exhibition (Emergent Art Space, USA, 2020), etc. Currently, Gafar Rzayev is engaged in painting, conceptual art, and graphic design. The artist is often inspired by the history and culture of Azerbaijan and tells the stories of the people and different places that surround him in his works, and he also conducts research on the archaic-modern nature of Azerbaijani society in his work.

  • CHINGIZ

    CHINGIZ (Chingiz Babayev, b. 1964, Baku) – sculptor, painter, designer, theorist, poet, and philosopher. He combines fine art, graphics, sculpture, collage, street art, installation, performance, video art, and other media to study the application of different ideas. CHINGIZ's oeuvre is showcased in the Baku Museum of Modern Art, Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum, and the Vahid Kooros collection, as well as kept in private and public collections across Russia, Ukraine, Vietnam, the USA, the UK, Austria, Italy, Estonia, France, Poland, Finland, Norway, Switzerland, the Dominican Republic, Kyrgyzstan, and Iran. The artist exhibited an individual exhibition titled “İNSƏN” at the YARAT Centre in 2022. His works were also exhibited in the group exhibitions: “Exhibition Carpet Art: The Evolution of Meanings” (Carpet Museum, Baku; Kazan, Tatarstan (RF) 2021); “Make an island for yourself” (XX-XXI Century Painting Museum, 2021).

  • Orxan Hüseynov

    Orxan Huseynov (b. 1978, Baku) graduated from the Department of Ceramic Design at the Azerbaijan State School of Arts named after A. Azimzade in 1995. Additionally, in 1999, he completed the Bachelor's in Ceramic Design at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts, and in 2000, he earned a Master's from the Faculty of Art History and Theory at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Arts. Huseynov's artistic experience encompasses a spectrum of mediums, including painting, installation, video, and other media. The central theme of his creativity is a focus on Azerbaijan's folk traditions and history, culture, art, daily life, monuments, and traditional games hold a special place in his works. In recent years, the artist has produced numerous pieces using artificial intelligence. The works of Orxan Huseynov have been exhibited internationally, including in Turkey, Georgia, Serbia, the Czech Republic, Russia, France, Germany, Denmark, Poland, Sweden, the UAE, and the United Kingdom. Notable exhibitions include “The Seventh Solitude” (YARAT Centre, Baku, 2023); “Metacode” (The Museum of Azerbaijani Painting of the XX-XXI Centuries, Baku, 2022); “Essad Bey's Ordeal” (Shirvanshah's Palace, Baku, 2022); “Extensions.AZ: Off the velvet chest” (Triumph Gallery, Moscow, 2019; “The Watchers” (The Shelley & Donald Rubin Foundation, New York, 2019); “Bahith (seeker)” (Gazelli Art House, London, 2019); “Dear Beloved” (YARAT Centre, Baku, 2017), and many more. In 2014, he was a resident at the Delfina Foundation in London.

  • Zamir Suleymanov

    Zamir Suleymanov (b. 1987, Baku) graduated from Azerbaijan State Economic University. He began his creative work with classical photographs, then switched to contemporary photography and video. He had his solo exhibition “ALL AND” in 2017, YAY Gallery, Baku, Azerbaijan. He is also a participant in international art exhibitions and festivals, including  “AfterHope” (Asian Art Museum, San Francisco, USA, 2020); Rijksakademie Open Studios (Amsterdam, Netherlands, 2019); “Across The Mountains” (MOMA Tbilisi, Georgia, 2019); “Ain't Nobody's Business”  (Pinchuk Art Centre, Kyiv, Ukraine, 2019); “Hometown Weather” (Salaam Cinema, Baku, Azerbaijan, 2018); “Between the Sea and Mountains” (YAY Gallery, Baku, Azerbaijan, 2017);  Sergey Kuryokhin Contemporary Art Award (St. Petersburg, Russia, 2017); “Draft Systems” (WRO, Wroclaw Media Art Biennale, Poland, 2017); “300 Words on Resistance” (YARAT Centre, Baku, Azerbaijan, 2016); “Candy Mountains and Oil Casts” (PERMM, Russia, 2015); “Heroism is Neurasthenia” (Alternative Art Biennale, Bucharest, 2015); Moscow Young Art Biennale (Moscow, Russia, 2014); Islamic Arts Festival (Sharjah, UAE, 2014); “ZAVOD” (Baku Conditioner Factory, Azerbaijan, 2013).   • Aida Mahmudova

    Aida Mahmudova is an Azerbaijani artist, founder of YARAT Contemporary Art Space, and CHELEBI brand. In her artistic practice, she explores themes of memory, place, and belonging, and experiments with materiality through installations, sculpture, and painting. Aida Mahmudova (b. 1982, Baku) graduated from St. Martin's College of Art and Design in London with a degree in painting. She has held large-scale international solo exhibitions (USA, Belgium, UK, Italy, Turkey, Russia, Switzerland, Georgia): “A Dream Unfolds”, Vision Art Platform, Istanbul, 2024; “Heaven Can Wait”, Zurab Tsereteli MoMA, Tbilisi, 2022; “Liminality”, Gazelli Art House, London, 2022; “PastPresentFuture”, Sapar Contemporary Gallery, New York, 2021; “Can't Capture The Light”, Deweer Gallery, Otegem, 2017; “Passing by”, Leila Heller Gallery, New York, 2015; “Internal Peace”, Barbarian Art Gallery, Zurich, 2013.
