Rasim Babayev (1927-2007) graduated from the Azimzade Azerbaijan State Art School in 1949. In 1949–1956, he studied at the Moscow State Academic Art Institute, named after V.I. Surikov. He is considered one of the most influential artists of the Absheron school of painting. His works are kept in permanent collections in Azerbaijan and abroad. Rasim Babayev's works are in Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow), Museum of Oriental Culture (Moscow), Russian Museum (St. Petersburg), Azerbaijan National Art Museum (Baku), Museum of Modern Art (Baku), Komsomolsk-Amur Art Museum (Russia), Ternopil Art Museum (Ukraine), Bishkek Art Museum (Kyrgyzstan), "De France" gallery (Paris); they are stored in "Gallery Kayforsblom" (Finland), "Zimmerli" Museum (New Brunswick, New Jersey, USA), and Moscow Museum of Modern Art.
